We need to start with a huge shout out to the overwhelming majority of our customers who answered our calls to discuss their experience using our mobile bidding feature. Good intentions are well and good, but we know just how difficult it is to return to "work" after an event to debrief, clean up loose ends and document recommendations for next year's team - so we really appreciate all of you who also made time to help us improve the mobile bidding feature! Thank you.
The feedback was comprehensive and wide-ranging - and so are the changes:
Mobile Bidding and Online Auction have been merged into a single feature and simplified. "Online/Mobile Bidding" site settings now control all "online" bidding, simplifying set-up and allowing for a seamless transition between online bidding prior to a gala, and mobile bidding during the event.
New tools provide significantly easier access to bidding. A new, integrated importer allows you to import spreadsheets of potential bidders, then email selected users an Invitation to Bid. Each invitation contains a token which automatically creates a bidding account for the user, logs them in, and brings them to your online catalog, ready to bid. Of course, you can also migrate users from past event sites. Invitations to bid can be sent to any user record with a valid email, and re-sent as often as desired.
Default settings allow anyone that visits your site w/o an invitation to signup to bid. You have the ability to restrict bidding to ticketed guests and/or invited guests only at any time with a single setting change.
"For Sale at:" Gala/Online/Mobile venue selection for items has been replaced with more intuitive Bidding Style choices:
- Paper Bid Sheets
- Online Pre-event, Paper/Paddle at Event.
Bidding styles can be set on an item-by-item basis (and bulk edited as needed), making it easier to organize your items to sell exactly as you desire, using the combination of bidding styles that works best for your event.
Mobile Bidding on Silent, Sellable, and Signup items is now included in the Standard Subscription.
Live and Paddle Raise type items can now be offered via online/mobile bidding with a Plus or Premium subscription.
