Sending invitations to bid is the preferred way to launch bidding for both online auctions and mobile bidding at a gala. The invitations provide one-click access so your supporters can browse and bid immediately - without having to create a "bidding account".
Driving potential bidders to your site, then directing them to signup to bid is necessary to draw in potential bidders that are unknown to your organization, but officially inviting your known supporters will increase their participation.
To launch bidding at an online only auction or pre-bidding for a gala/mobile event, you can bulk send invitations from the Users, Tickets, or Mobile Invite pages. For mobile bidding at a gala event, you also have the option of auto-sending invites to guests when the check-in, or manually triggering an invite from the check-in confirmation screen.
Promoting your online auction/mobile bidding doesn't end once bidding begins - successful online events have a plan for continuing to generate excitement and buzz about the event while the bidding underway.
Although Online/Mobile bidding is automated, your team will likely need to know how they can place proxy bids for supporters that aren't comfortable bidding online and how to cancel individual bids that were placed in error. And of course, you'll want to be able to view the bidding progress. . .
