The front desk is where the critical event night software activity takes place: check-in, recording sales, and check-out.
We recommend identifying and appointing a team member who is very comfortable with the software to be Front Desk Poobah for your event.
This is an area that deserves (and often requires) a dedicated point person. Remember - no matter how wonderful the decorations or meal, no matter how entertaining the bidding is, long delays at check-in, or check-out that goes awry, will taint the memories of your big event.
So identify your Poobah early and task them with:
- Ensuring the front desk crew gets the training they need to handle their assignment with aplomb
- Ensuring that all hardware is set-up and tested at least 3 hours prior to check-in
- Manning the Front desk troubleshooting station during your event
Once your Poohbah is appointed, be sure to enter their name and cell phone number at Site Settings > Customize Your Site > General > Organization Info > Event Night Contact. Our support team monitors Gala events in progress and occasionally notices potential problems. We can then contact your Front Desk Poobah before these problems become evident at your event.
