You can now set a cap on overall ticket sales.
Setting a cap on ticket sales is optional. If a cap isn't necessary for your event, leave the field blank.
Messaging to Online Ticket Buyers
The registration page quantity selector for each ticket type will display valid choices only.
For instance, if only two tickets remain in your overall cap, a Single admission ticket will allow purchase of quantity = 1 or quantity = 2 of that ticket; while a Couples ticket will only allow purchase of quantity = 1.
If a ticket type admits more guests than the number of tickets remaining in your cap (in the case of a table or sponsorship ticket type), that ticket type will display as Not Available.
Tickets in an online cart are released back to inventory if that purchase is not completed within 30 minutes. Inventory may fluctuate due to timed out purchases.
Admin Alerts
When total seats sold reaches 80% of your maximum number of tickets, a notification is automatically sent to the email address entered at Site Settings > Registration > Tickets > Online Ticket Sales.
Exceptions to Maximum Limit Enforcement
The seat cap limit is NOT enforced on ticket imports.
The seat cap is NOT applied retroactively. Entering a seat cap will not delete existing ticket sales. For instance: If you've already sold 200 tickets, and you subsequently enter a 100 ticket seat cap, your 200 sold tickets will remain as is, but no additional online sales will be allowed until you either remove the seat cap or set it to an amount > the number of tickets already sold.
The limit set is NOT enforced for in-person ticket sales made at Auction Night > Check In > Sell a Ticket. Staff will not be prevented from overselling your event. Instead, they will see messaging informing them how many seats remain.
