This article provides instructions for connecting your livestream feed to your event site.
Planning Your Livestream provides information about your options for producing your livestream.
To Setup your Livestream Feed:
Go to: Auction Night > Virtual Control Panel > Setup Video
Follow Instructions provided for the selected streaming service:
Built in Streaming via single webcam:
All that's needed to setup this option is to click on the Save Settings button, then click Broadcast when you're ready to preview/test your camera/mic. A Go Live button allows you to begin broadcasting to the public when you're ready.
Built-in Streaming via external software or service:
The software or service you're using to produce your video feed needs to know where to send it for broadcasting. Copy and Paste the credentials provided into your software/service to direct the video feed to our built in streaming platform. Once connected, all aspects of your video feed are controlled from the software/service (eg launching, mixing etc.)
Avoid the inclination to broadcast your feed in high definition. High definition settings add significant latency in exchange for little gain in image quality.
Use these specifications to ensure a broadcast with a good balance between image quality and reliable streaming:
- 720 p
- 20 frames/second
- bandwidth = 1.25 - 1.5 megabits/second
Previewing Your Livestream
Regardless of the source of your video feed, it will initially display in Preview Mode on the Control Panel (only). Hover your cursor on the feed to access controls to enlarge the screen. When you're ready to make it visible to your supporters, move the slider from Preview to Live.
