Recording Sponsorships (Essentials Plan)

Note:  This workaround is provided for Essentials and Standard Legacy subscriptions (which do not include the Sponsorship Packages feature).

There are 3 steps for entering sponsorships: 

1. Creating a "vehicle" for selling each sponsorship level (Tickets or Items),
2. Creating a Donor Record for each sponsor,
3. "Selling" the sponsorship to the donor to record the transaction and payment

If you do not provide complimentary tickets to sponsors, it is easiest to create a catalog item for each sponsor level, then record the sponsorship by "selling' the item to the donor by creating a new order .

If complimentary tickets are provided to Sponsors, it is easiest to create a ticket type for each sponsor level, then sell or issue the ticket to each donor/sponsor at that level.
