When votes are public, the voting screen and displays are the best place to monitor voting progress. If vote counts are hidden from the public, actual counts can still be viewed on a display created for internal viewing only.
Proxy votes can be placed for supporters having trouble placing their own votes (or who are not in attendance)
Voters are not allowed to change their votes after placing them, but your team can do so by editing the transaction from the Orders page.
Contests can be set to open and close voting at a specified time, or manually when ready.
Because each vote is recorded as a donation and awarding the winner has no bearing on orders (and contestants may or may not be a guest at your event) - the software does not have a public "Award" process for Contest winners (eg - no one is notified that they - or their favorite contestant - has won. Because the software does not need to "award" winners, this provides your event team the flexibility to re-open voting in case of ties - or for dance-offs etc. Your event team can announce the contest winner(s) as appropriate for your event.
Placing Proxy Votes
Go to: Auction Night > Online/Voting Tasks > Vote for a User then complete the form to specify the User/Guest Name and which contest/contestant they wish to vote for.
Changing votes that have already been cast:
Go to Orders > Search for the Guest's order > Click on the Edit icon to view their order/cart.
Then click on the Edit Icon next to the votes they want to change > Adjust Quantity or Votes to edit the amount of votes or how they are distributed among contestants.
Closing Voting
An automated open and/or closing time can be specified for each contest - but manual triggers are also provided for each contest.
A Pause button allows you the option to temporarily pause voting to review results, re-open for run-off voting to break ties etc.
The Award button will close voting (if still not already paused) and award the winners.
Keep in mind that the public voting screen displays live results - indicating which contestant is in first place etc. The Award process simply provides an internal list of the winners - it does not notify any users, nor is it displayed publicly.
